Washington DC [US], March 21 (HBTV): US President Donald Trump said on Friday that individuals caught sabotaging Tesla cars could face imprisonment for up to twenty years. He made the statement in a post on Truth Social.

In his post, Trump wrote, 'People that get caught sabotaging Teslas will stand a very good chance of going to jail for up to twenty years, and that includes the funders. WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU!!!'

Trump's remarks follow US Attorney General Pam Bondi’s condemnation of recent attacks on Tesla properties, which she described as 'nothing short of domestic terrorism.' She stated that the Department of Justice has already charged several individuals in connection with the attacks, with some cases carrying mandatory minimum sentences of five years.

'We will continue investigations that impose severe consequences on those involved in these attacks, including those operating behind the scenes to coordinate and fund these crimes,' Bondi said.

Her statement came after five Tesla vehicles were damaged when a fire broke out at a Tesla Collision Center in Las Vegas on Tuesday morning. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has linked the incident to a series of recent attacks targeting the electric vehicle company, ABC News reported.

Since Tesla CEO Elon Musk assumed leadership of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Tesla vehicles, dealerships, and charging stations have been vandalized and have faced protests in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, The New York Times reported that the US Department of Defense is set to brief Musk on plans for a potential war with China. The report highlighted Musk’s expanding government role and potential conflicts of interest, noting that as CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, he is a key supplier to the Pentagon and has extensive financial ties with China.

Musk was also the largest financial supporter of Trump during the presidential campaign. (ANI)
