Virginia [US], April 9 (HBTV): Three people were killed and three others wounded in a shooting on Tuesday evening in northeastern Virginia, with one or more suspects still at large, authorities said.
According to Major Elizabeth Scott, spokesperson for the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office, 911 calls were received around 5:30 pm reporting gunfire at a townhouse complex in Spotsylvania County, near Fredericksburg, approximately 105 kilometres southwest of Washington.
Officials have urged residents to avoid the area and advised those nearby to stay indoors while investigations are ongoing.
Scott stated that the shooting may have involved more than one assailant. No arrests had been made as of Tuesday night, and no motive has yet been publicly identified.
The three wounded individuals were transported to hospitals with gunshot injuries. Further details regarding their conditions were not immediately available.
