Imphal (Manipur) [India], February 8 (HBTV): The Speaker's Tribunal on Saturday reserved its judgment in the disqualification case against five National People's Party (NPP) MLAs and one Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)] MLA.
Lead counsel N. Bupendra Meitei, appearing for petitioner Hareshwar Goshwami in four cases, said, ‘I appeared for my client in the disqualification case against four NPP MLAs. Two other disqualification cases against NPP MLA Khuraijam Loken Singh and JD(U) MLA Abdul Nasir were also heard today (Saturday).’
He added, ‘The Speaker has reserved judgment in the six disqualification cases of 2025. The hearing proceeded from 11 a.m. to around 2:15 p.m. The Speaker also directed that if any party wishes to submit a written reply, it must be submitted before 1 p.m. on Sunday. However, judgment has been reserved in all six cases.’
Bupendra further stated that the Speaker had also reserved judgment against five JD(U) MLAs on Friday.
