Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) [India], April 8 (HBTV): Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has ordered an inquiry into reports that some students were unable to take the JEE exam in the Pendurthi area, allegedly due to delays caused by his convoy, according to an official statement from the Chief Minister's Office.
The statement noted that the Deputy Chief Minister has sought clarification on several key questions: ‘How long was traffic stopped for the convoy? What was the traffic situation on the routes students had to take to reach the exam centre at that time? Was any traffic control carried out on the service roads?’
He has directed the Visakhapatnam police to investigate the matter thoroughly.
The release further stated that Pawan Kalyan has made it clear that he does not want people to face any inconvenience during his official tours. Police have been instructed to regulate traffic only briefly during the visits of chief ministers in the coalition government. Even during helicopter visits, efforts are made to avoid unnecessary disruption, including avoiding roadblocks or cutting down trees.
The central office has also issued strict instructions to party members not to conduct events involving crane garlands or any other programmes that could lead to traffic disruptions. The statement emphasised that these guidelines are communicated to party leaders during every visit and were followed during the current visit as well. (ANI)
