New Delhi [India], December 24 (HBTV): Paris Olympian Raiza Dhillon of Haryana made history at the ongoing 67th National Shooting Championship Competitions (NSCC) for Shotgun events at New Delhi's Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range (DKSSR). Raiza created a new national record and equalled another while making both the women's Skeet finals.

Raiza's score of 122 topped the junior women's and women's qualification rounds, surpassing Simranpreet Kaur Johal's junior record of 120 set at the 2018 Jaipur Nationals. Her score also matched Ganemat Sekhon's mark at the recent ISSF World Cup Final in Delhi.

Ganemat Sekhon followed Raiza into the six-woman final, securing second place with a tally of 118 hits over five rounds across two days. Madhya Pradesh's Vanshika Tiwari and Rajasthan's Yashasvi Rathore also advanced to both the junior and senior women's finals.

Telangana's Munek Battula shattered the junior men's Skeet qualification national record with a score of 123, surpassing Abhay Singh Sekhon's 2019 record of 122 in Delhi.

In the men's Skeet qualification, Punjab's Fatehbir Singh Shergill led with a score of 123 across five rounds. Munek Battula matched this score but settled for second place after losing a shoot-off to Fatehbir. Joining them in the final were Olympians Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Angad Vir Singh Bajwa, two of India's most accomplished Skeet shooters.

Mairaj shot 121, tying with Angad, and claimed the fifth spot after winning a shoot-off for bib numbers. Both Olympians outperformed Paris Olympian Anant Jeet Singh Naruka, who finished seventh with a score of 119.

Munek Battula also led the field in junior men's Skeet and will compete in two finals on Tuesday, alongside Bhavtegh Singh Gill of Punjab.

Punjab dominated the team competitions, winning three of the four golds. Ganemat Sekhon secured gold as part of the women's team, while Bhavtegh Gill and Harmehar Lally triumphed in both the junior and men's team categories.
