Khandu reiterated his stern warning to government employees involved in corrupt practices, emphasizing that those engaged in corruption would not be spared.

Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) [India], December 19 (HBTV): Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday reiterated his stern warning to government employees involved in corrupt practices, emphasizing that those engaged in corruption would not be spared.

Speaking at the Passing-Out Parade ceremony of the 49th batch of Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) recruits at the Police Training Centre (PTC), Banderdewa, Khandu addressed a rumour about contractual ANM and GNM nurses being asked to pay large sums of money for the regularization of their jobs.

"I have been repeating my warning against corruption from every possible platform. I have personally requested Director General of Police (DGP) Anand Mohan to thoroughly investigate the matter and if there is any truth in the rumour, those involved will not be spared," Khandu said.

The Chief Minister expressed surprise that despite the state cabinet's decision to regularize the jobs of contractual nurses in the health department, some were still willing to pay for regularization. "Why will you pay to get regularized when the government has already decided to regularize your job?" he questioned.

Khandu warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty of corruption, urging new recruits to stand firm against such practices once they officially joined the police department.

Congratulating the 49th batch of recruits, Khandu praised the training centre's efforts. The batch included 885 recruits, the largest contingent ever to pass out from PTC. The recruits will officially begin their duties on January 13, 2025.

Khandu also announced that earlier this year, 109 Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and 42 Recruit Firemen completed their training, bringing the total number of personnel trained in 2024 to 1,081. He shared that the State Cabinet had approved Special Grades for Police Constables, Head Constables, and Assistant Sub-Inspectors, ensuring career progression and addressing grievances related to promotions.

The ceremony was attended by Home Minister Mama Natung, DGP Mohan, and other officials.
