Sribhumi, Assam, April 16 (HBTV): In a shocking incident in Sadarashi Panchayat of Sribhumi in Assam a woman killed her husband by striking him on the head with a hammer. The local community promptly apprehended the perpetrator and handed her over to the police.   

Reports said that on Tuesday night, Chhaina Begum from Ward 10 of Saidpur in Sadarashi GP attacked her husband, Taj Uddin, with a five-kilogram hammer while he was sleeping, resulting in his immediate death. Reports said they had a domestic dispute. Chhaina Begum attempted to flee after committing the crime but was caught by locals and arrested by the police.

Chhaina Begum is approximately 32 years old, while the deceased, Taj Uddin, was around 60 years old. Taj Uddin had another wife, and frequent domestic conflicts between the two wives reportedly led to this horrific incident.   

Upon receiving news of the event, police from Girishganj under Karimganj Sadar Thana, Sadar Thana police, and the Sadar Circle Officer arrived at the scene. The police have sent Taj Uddin’s body to Karimganj Civil Hospital for a postmortem.
