Agartala, Tripura, March 1 (HBTV): Chaos hit Tejas Rajdhani Express train number 20502 headed for Agartala from Anand Vihar after passengers who reportedly ordered vegetarian meals were served with non-vegetarian food. Passengers claimed that the Paneer meal parcels delivered to their respective seats carried chicken pieces. Most of the passengers were reportedly returning from the Maha Kumbh in Uttar Pradesh and had resolved to stay away from non-vegetarian food till they reached home.   

When alarm was raised, catering service providers allegedly tried to evade the issue and ignored the complaints.  

Later , the passengers registered a complaint on the official website prompting the supervisor to reach out to the aggrieved passengers. The supervisor also allegedly behaved rudely with them and even said that the passengers had been overreacting.   

A passenger said, “Chicken pieces had been found inside Paneer curry. The religious sentiments of the travelers had been hurt through the act.” The passengers have sought the intervention of the higher authorities in the matter.
