Tripura chief minister holds meeting to review flood situation

After returning from New Delhi on Tuesday, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha promptly convened a review meeting to assess the flood situation in the state.

Agartala (Tripura) [India], August 20 (HBTV): After returning from New Delhi on Tuesday, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha promptly convened a review meeting to assess the flood situation in the state.  

The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, the Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan, the Secretary of the Revenue Department, and senior officials from the Public Works Department (PWD) and Drinking Water and Sanitation (DWS) Department, among others.  

The discussions focused on evaluating the current situation and implementing measures to manage and mitigate the impact of the floods on the affected areas.

He asked the officials concerned to leave no stone unturned in ensuring timely support and relief to the affected people.  

Earlier on the day, the Chief Minister in a social media post shared that intense rainfall caused floods in several areas in South Tripura and other districts.  

"In response, relief centres have been set up to provide support to those affected. The district administration has been instructed to take appropriate action to prioritize public safety and mitigate the impact of the flooding," he mentioned in the post.  

According to official sources, the administration is closely monitoring the overall situation and extending assistance to those affected.
