Tragic death in Tripura: Youth Succumbs to mob violence over theft allegation

In a shocking case of mob violence, a 24-year-old youth identified as Sajal Nama of Bankumari, died after being brutally assaulted in Laxmibil, Bishalgarh, over allegations of stealing a battery.

Agartala, Tripura, December 13 (HBTV): In a shocking case of mob violence, a 24-year-old youth identified as Sajal Nama of Bankumari, died after being brutally assaulted in Laxmibil, Bishalgarh, over allegations of stealing a battery.   

The incident unfolded after locals accused Nama of stealing and reportedly assaulted him severely before handing him over to Bishalgarh police. Following his release, Nama returned home, gravely injured, and informed his wife about the ordeal. 

“He told me they assaulted him over false allegations,” his grieving wife said. Sama complained of severe head injuries, and his condition deteriorated rapidly. Initially treated at Bishalgarh Hospital, he was referred to GB Hospital, where he succumbed to injury on Wednesday night. 

Sajal Sama leaves behind a distraught wife and two young children. His widow, overwhelmed by grief, expressed despair at their financial condition and demanded justice. The case has sparked outrage, highlighting the dangers of mob violence and its devastating consequences on families. 

The police have launched an investigation, with growing calls from the community for swift justice.   

"I lost my husband to senseless violence. All I want is justice," his wife pleaded.
