Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has stated that the reputation of any health institution depends on its nursing staff.

Agartala (Tripura) [India], February 1 (HBTV): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha stated on Friday that the reputation of any health institution depends on its nursing staff, emphasizing that nurses should prioritize building cordial relationships with patients and their families.

'Due to the development of the state's health system, we are now able to perform complex surgeries, including neuro surgeries, within the state. Additionally, after the introduction of kidney transplantation, initiatives have been launched for liver transplants and other organ transplants. As a result, the quality of health services in the state will continue to improve,' he said.

Saha, who also holds the Health portfolio, made these remarks after inaugurating the new academic building and student hostel of the North-East Institute of Nursing Science, located near Amtali Bypass.

He assured that the state government is committed to enhancing the state's health infrastructure.

'Two medical colleges, one dental college, a nursing college, and various other health educational institutions have already been established in the state. Nurses play a vital role in delivering healthcare in any institution. The reputation of these institutions depends on the nursing staff. Therefore, nurses should prioritize building good relationships with patients and their families,' he stated.

The Chief Minister highlighted that many individuals from the state have earned strong reputations in the nursing field, both nationally and internationally.

He expressed confidence that in the future, a large number of skilled nurses would emerge from the institute and contribute to the state's health system.

Saha also mentioned that trauma centres have been strengthened in every district hospital of the state, and a cardiac care centre has been established in Ambassa.

'Due to these state government initiatives, the number of referrals outside the state has significantly reduced,' he added.

The event was attended by Padma Shri Chittaranjan Maharaj, Mayor Dipak Majumder, Chairman of the institution Parth Pratim Saha, and other dignitaries. (ANI)
