Aizawl (Mizoram) [India], April 9 (HBTV): Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma met Director General of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Anurag Garg, at his office in Aizawl on Tuesday to discuss strategies to tackle the growing drug menace in the state.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted the urgent need to curb the influx of drugs through the international border and emphasized the importance of bolstering infrastructure and increasing manpower in border areas to enhance drug interdiction efforts.
Lalduhoma also informed that the state government has appealed to the Central Government for the establishment of a Mizo Territorial Army under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Anurag Garg supported the idea of setting up a fully operational NCB Zonal Office in Mizoram and reiterated the importance of strengthening the agency's workforce. He further stressed the need for appointing NCB personnel proficient in the Mizo language to improve communication and operational effectiveness.
The meeting was also attended by Vanlaldina Fanai, Commissioner and Secretary to the Chief Minister.
