Aizawl (Mizoram) [India], August 15 (HBTV): Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma, on Thursday hoisted the national flag on the 78th Independence Day in Aizawl and extended his heartfelt greetings to all the people of Mizoram and the Zo ethnic communities living outside the state.
He also expressed deep gratitude and reverence for the selfless freedom fighters who dedicated their lives and services to the nation.
He said that their unrelenting toil and ideals have ensured us to become proud citizens of a vibrant and secular democracy respected globally.
Lalduhoma reaffirmed that his administration consistently prioritizes "Mizoram first" in every policy, striving to meet the expectations, aspirations, and hopes of the people.
He reiterated the government's commitment to delivering inclusive governance and development, ensuring greater transparency and accountability, and providing a people-centric administration with improved public service delivery.
"A budget of INR 110 crore has been allocated for the minimum support price of four selected crops, with the Agricultural Market Assurance Fund Management Board established to oversee its implementation. Additionally, the Resource Mobilization Committee was formed to advise the government on resource mobilization strategies and recommend austerity measures. To ensure more effective policy implementation and enhance coordination among departments, the Mizoram State Policy Coordination Committee has been established. Furthermore, the Mizoram State Project Monitoring Committee has been set up to ensure public accountability and maintain integrity in major infrastructure projects. All these newly formed committees, established within the first eight months of the current administration, have been actively working in their respective domains," CM Lalduhoma said.
He further said that, under the new government, an amount of INR 425.49 crores which was held under K-Deposit has been released.
"Till June 2024, an amount of INR 359.89 crore towards GPF payments has been cleared. The First Installment of MLA Local Area Development Fund to the tune of INR 40 crore has been released," he said.
The Mizoram chief minister also highlighted several key initiatives that his new government has recently undertaken. These include the introduction of the Mizoram Sustainable Investment Policy, 2024, and the enhancement of deliverable services under the Mizoram Right to Public Services Act, 2015, which have increased from 140 to 192. Additionally, the government is set to launch its flagship Hand Holding Policy soon.
"Other notable achievements include the recently launched MSME Elevate Mizoram program, aligned with Raising & Accelerating MSME Productivity, the revival of the Mizoram State Core Committee on Ruihhlo Do, the establishment of both the Mizo Diaspora Cell and the Corporate Social Responsibility Cell, and the establishment of the State Institution for Transformation under the Planning Department," the chief minister said.
