Meghalaya chief minister presents INR 1,970 crore deficit budget for 2025-26

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has presented a deficit budget for the state for 2025-26.

Chumoukedima, Nagaland, March 6 (HBTV): Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has presented a deficit budget for the state for 2025-26. He presented a INR 1,970 crore deficit budget for 2025-26, outlining total receipts of INR 30,415 crore, including revenue receipts of INR 25,591 crore and capital receipts of INR 4,824 crore.   

Excluding borrowings of INR 4,788 crore, the total receipts are INR 25,627 crore, while the total expenditure is estimated at INR 30,003 crore, comprising INR 20,556 crore in revenue expenditure; and INR 9,447 crore in capital expenditure.

On the expenditure side, Sangma projected a total of INR 30,003 crore, with revenue expenditure at INR 20,556 crore and capital expenditure at INR 9,447 crore.  

Excluding repayment of loans amounting to INR 2,406 crore, the estimated total expenditure stands at INR 27,597 crore, he said.   

The chief minister detailed that interest payments for the year are estimated at INR 1,347 crore, while pension payments will be INR 1,824 crore.
