Imphal, Manipur, August 28 (ENG): A combined team of the Manipur Police and central forces have arrested three cadres of two different militant outfits from two different areas in the past 48 hours from different locations.

On Tuesday, Manipur Police team arrested a cadre of the proscribed outfit Kangleipak Communist Party (Taibangnganba) from Elangkhanpokpi, Kakching district.

The arrested person has been identified as one KoijamUperjit Singh (29). He was allegedly involved in extortion from the public of Kakching, Imphal West, and Thoubal.

Similarly, a combined team of Manipur police and central forces arrested two cadres of the proscribed outfit Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup from WangjingHeirok crossing, Thoubal District, on Monday.

The arrested persons were identified as Narengbam Gobin Sing (37) and Moirangmayum Romantic alias Prem (27).

The team seized a 9mm pistol along with a magazine, one SMG carbine along with a magazine, one mobile with a SIM card, five live ammunition rounds, and one four-wheel vehicle from Sangaiyumpham, Thoubal district.  

The arrested persons along with the arms have been handed over to the police station for further legal action, a police report said.
