Manipur: Female electors higher than male electors in final electoral rolls

Chief Electoral Officer of Manipur Pradeep Kumar Jha on Monday said that the total number of female electors in the state is higher than the number of male electors.

Imphal, Manipur, January 7 (HBTV): Chief Electoral Officer of Manipur Pradeep Kumar Jha on Monday said that the total number of female electors in the state is higher than the number of male electors.

Speaking to the media on Monday at the CEO’s office, PK Jha said the number of electors in the state as per the final electoral rolls is 20, 54, 387 of which 10, 61979 are female electors while 9, 92140 are male electors. Approximately 268 persons are classified as ‘third gender.’

"The total number of newly enrolled electors during the revision period is 29468 with 13348 males, 16118 females and two third gender electors. As many as 9741 electors have been deleted from the electoral rolls during the revision period," Jha said.

Jha also said "Imphal West reported highest number of electors with 384176 electors followed by Imphal East and Thoubal districts with 326668 and 206367 electors respectively."

"Among the hill districts, Churachandpur with 1,85,570 has the highest number of electors followed by Senapati district with 1,46,666 electors" he said.

"Jiribam and Kamjong have the lowest number of electors with 31,513 and 35,813 electors respectively," he added.

As per final electoral rolls 2025, gender ratio stands at 1070 as compare to 1069 in draft electoral roll 2025 published on October 29, 2024. The elector population ratio is recorded at 55.37 percent as compared to 53.84 percent in previous draft rolls. The total number of electors as per final electoral rolls is 20, 54, 387 showing in net increase of 19,727 electors from the draft electoral roll of 2025 (20, 34, 660).
