Kuki-based village volunteers group condemn Home Ministry's initiatives to broker peace

The VVCC has strongly condemned the initiatives of Ministry of Home Affairs to broker a cessation of hostilities agreement among the Kuki-Zo Council and Meitei civil bodies and the government.

Imphal, Manipur, April 1 (HBTV): The Kuki community based Village Volunteers Coordinating Committee (VVCC) has strongly condemned the initiatives of Ministry of Home Affairs to broker a cessation of hostilities agreement among the Kuki-Zo Council and Meitei civil bodies and the government. They are displeased that the initiative is on without delivering justice and long standing demand for separate administration in the form of Union Territory with legislative powers.

The committee said in a statement that it ‘unequivocally reject any agreement that fails to prioritize their rights and interests.  

“The VVCC will not recognise any agreement reached without a comprehensive political resolutions that meet our demands."

The VVCC also informed that if the Kuki Zo Council proceeds with the agreement that compromises "our aspirations", it will take a decisive action including boycotting the council.
