Four notorious brokers arrested for helping Bangladesh nationals enter India

Four individuals alleged to be notorious brokers in assisting illegal immigrants enter India were arrested from Badarpur in Karimganj district of Assam on Sunday evening.

Guwahati, Assam, September 24 (HBTV): Four individuals alleged to be notorious brokers in assisting illegal immigrants enter India were arrested from Badarpur in Karimganj district of Assam on Sunday evening.   

Initially, one of them was nabbed, which led to the arrest of the other three from Khelma village in the Kalain police station area of ​​Cachar district on Monday. The arrested persons were identified as one Jamil Ahmed alias Mona (28), a Mehebul Alam (26), one Kapil Uddin (45), and a Titu Roy (25). They were arrested following the arrest of four Bangladeshi nationals who entered India illegally along the Indo-Bangladesh border through the Ratacherra area of Meghalaya the previous Sunday. The four Bangladesh nationals were sent back across to Bangladesh with the help of the Border Security Force.

Karimganj’s superintendent of police Partha Pratim Das, along with the officer in charge of Badarpur carried out the operation on Sunday to catch hold of the prime accused Jamil Ahmed alias Mona, an auto rickshaw driver from Konapara village of Badarpur.   

The brokers reportedly communicated with the Bangladeshis through WhatsApp calls, police sources informed. The accused persons also allegedly made fake Aadhaar cards and passed on information when to cross the border into India. They also allegedly provided train tickets and arranged travel from the Badarpur railway junction to other parts of India.
