Imphal, Manipur, November 26 (HBTV): Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh attended a program marking the observance of Constitution Day at Babupara today. The Law & Legislative Affairs of the government organized the event.  

Biren Singh released the diglot edition of the three new criminal major Acts in Meetei Mayek script at the event. 

Speaking at the occasion, Biren Singh said mass awareness campaigns about the Indian constitution are crucial towards building a strong and united nation. He appreciated the efforts of the departmental officials involved in the translation process from English to Meetei Mayek for the present and future generations.

 N Biren Singh maintained that the values, principles, and rights enshrined in the constitution should be inculcated by the peopl. Also, he emphasised on the need for the executive, legislature and judiciary to work collectively towards bringing development to the state.

Also, the minister for Law & Legislative Affairs Thounaojam Basantakumar Singh stated that the Constitution is not merely a legal document but a testament of collective aspirations for justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. He said it guarantees fundamental rights to all citizens including the right to equality, freedom, and protection against exploitation. It also outlines the duties of citizens to promote the spirit of patriotism and uphold the unity of India, he added.
