Hojai, Assam, June 1 (HBTV): The flood situation in Assam has worsened as surging waters of the Brahmaputra and other major rivers engulfed new areas, resulting in six fatalities and affecting over 1.98 lakh people across 10 districts of the state.

In Hojai, there is a severe flood. More than 19 villages have been inundated so far.

There is a possibility of water crossing between Jogijan and Jamunamukh railway lines in Hojai.

Flood victims are still trapped in various areas.

The National Disaster Response Force has already launched a rescue operation to rescue the flood victims.
