Shillong (Meghalaya) [India], November 4 (HBTV): The Border Security Force (BSF), in collaboration with Meghalaya Police, apprehended 11 Bangladeshi nationals near the international border in South West Garo Hills (SWGH) and East Khasi Hills (EKH) districts for attempting to infiltrate into Indian territory.

On November 4, acting on specific intelligence, BSF Meghalaya troops, together with local police, detained seven Bangladeshi nationals near Baldamgiri Tinali (Tri-Junction) in SWGH. The individuals were identified as Amir Ali (35), Mir Jahan (45), Biplob Mia (35), Angur Hussain (20), Chand Mia (32), Rasel Mia (32), and MD Bakul Mia (35), all from Kurigram District, Bangladesh, according to a BSF statement.

In a separate incident, alert troops from the 4th Battalion of BSF Meghalaya detained four Bangladeshi nationals and three Indian nationals near the border at Dawki in EKH. The individuals included Shorobindu Biswas (37, Bangladeshi), Royal Talukder (17, Bangladeshi), Rony Lamin (34, Bangladeshi, identified as a tout), and Kausalla Talukdar (33, female, Bangladeshi). The Indian nationals were Shankhor Saha (46), Ronbir Saha (9), and Suna Lyngdoh (22), who were found along with a vehicle near the border.

The vigilant 50th Battalion BSF Meghalaya, along with Meghalaya Police, discovered that the apprehended individuals had taken shelter near Baldamgiri Tinali.
