Purba Medinipur (West Bengal) [India], December 3 (HBTV): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted search operations in Haldia, Purba Medinipur, on Tuesday as part of an investigation into a corruption case involving medical college admission quotas.

The raids targeted private medical colleges in various locations across the state, including Haldia, Durgapur, and Kolkata.

According to reports, fake certificates were allegedly submitted in exchange for money to secure admissions in medical colleges. The issue has drawn significant attention, with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court raising concerns about such practices in September this year. Similar cases of quota corruption in MBBS admissions have been reported in 28 locations nationwide.
