Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], November 24 (HBTV): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath celebrated outside the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office on Saturday by bursting crackers following the announcement of results for nine assembly bypolls in the state.

The Election Commission declared results for by-elections in 48 assembly seats across 13 states. The BJP and its allies secured a majority, while Congress won both Lok Sabha seats in Wayanad, Kerala, and Nanded, Maharashtra.

In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP clinched six seats, with its ally Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) winning one. The Samajwadi Party secured two seats. Celebrating the victory, CM Yogi congratulated party workers and attributed the success to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

'Today, the results of the Maharashtra Election 2024, Jharkhand Assembly Election 2024, and by-elections have been declared. PM Modi's vision and leadership have guided us to victory. The public has placed its trust in his vision and policies. I congratulate all winning candidates,' Yogi Adityanath said during a press conference in Lucknow.

Nationally, the BJP and allies dominated states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Rajasthan. In West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) swept all six contested seats, while Congress secured seven, including three in Karnataka.

In Kerala, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra made a strong electoral debut, winning the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll by a margin of 410,931 votes against BJP's Navya Haridas. This victory joins her with her mother Sonia Gandhi in the Rajya Sabha and brother Rahul Gandhi, who represents Rae Bareli in the Lok Sabha.

Other key results included BJP wins in Assam, Rajasthan, and individual seats in Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Uttarakhand. The National People's Party claimed victory in Meghalaya.

By-elections for 48 assembly and two Lok Sabha seats across 15 states reflect significant political shifts and regional party performances.
