New Delhi [India], January 29 (HBTV): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over the Yamuna pollution issue, stating that the river was 'smelling like a sewer.'

Addressing a public gathering in the Mangolpuri Assembly Constituency in Delhi, he attacked the AAP, stating that people who have suffered under the AAP government in Delhi would soon be freed of their troubles.

'Roads in Delhi are in terrible condition. You know this better than anyone. What do you think the conditions in Delhi must be like? When I was coming from Ghaziabad to Delhi today, the Yamuna, which was once a symbol of faith for all of us, had a foul smell—it smelled like a sewer. The people who have suffered under the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi will soon be freed of their troubles. There is only one way to resolve this—a BJP government should be formed in Delhi as well,' he said.

'The AAP government in Delhi has become synonymous with anarchy. Not only their leaders but the entire party now represents corruption. Anna Hazare's entire political campaign revolved around Jan Lokpal, but when their government was formed in the national capital, they did not even consider working on it. They used to talk about accountability to the people, but what are they doing now?' CM Yogi further stated.

The Delhi Assembly elections will be held in a single phase on February 5, with the counting of votes scheduled for February 8.

The Congress, which ruled Delhi for 15 consecutive years, has suffered setbacks in the last two assembly elections and has failed to win a single seat. In contrast, the AAP dominated the 2020 assembly elections, winning 62 out of 70 seats, while the BJP secured only eight seats.
