Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] June 13 (HBTV): A shocking incident has surfaced in the Malad West area of Mumbai: A woman approached police after finding a piece of a human finger inside an ice cream scoop she ordered with other items via a grocery delivery app. 

Ravi Adane, senior police inspector at Malad Police Station, said the authority received a complaint stating that a piece of flesh was found in the ice cream ordered online.   

‘We have taken the piece of flesh for investigation. A case under sections 272, 273, and 336 of the Indian Penal Code, has been registered against the ice cream company. We are investigating the case,’ the official said.   

On Wednesday night, a local family ordered three ice creams -- two mango and one butterscotch flavors. When Brendan Ferrao, the complainant’s brother, bit into the butterscotch ice cream, he felt something unusual in his mouth. Upon looking more closely, he discovered to his horror the severed human finger embedded inside the ice cream.

The family immediately informed the Malad Police. 

Police have registered a case against Company under IPC sections 272 (adulteration of food or drink intended for sale), 273 (sale of harmful food or drink), and 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others). 

Police have sent the human organ found in the ice cream to the Forensic laboratory, Malad Police said.
