Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has compared the rioters in Sambhal to the Mughal ruler Babur.

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], December 5 (HBTV): Addressing the Ramayan Mela's opening ceremony at Ayodhya's Ram Katha Park on Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath compared the rioters in Sambhal with those who attacked minorities in Bangladesh, drawing parallels with historical events from 500 years ago.

Speaking at the event, Yogi Adityanath remarked: 'Remember what Babur's men did in Ayodhya Kumbh 500 years ago. The same thing happened in Sambhal, and the same is happening in Bangladesh. The nature of the three and their DNA is the same. If someone believes that this is happening in Bangladesh, then the same elements are here too, waiting to hand you over. They have made full arrangements to break social unity.'

He also warned against misplaced trust: 'Some of the people talking about this are those who have property abroad. If a crisis happens here, they will run away and leave others here to die. Do not remain under any delusion. There are powers here ready to harm you and cause division.'

The Chief Minister urged people to draw inspiration from Lord Ram's life and recalled the collective efforts behind the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. 'Ayodhya is moving forward with a new identity as a global spiritual and cultural city. Due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts, Lord Ram was seated in the temple earlier this year after 500 years. Anyone who does not respect Lord Ram and Mata Janaki, no matter how dear they are to you, should be abandoned like an enemy. That is why Ram devotees gave the slogan in 1990, "Jo Ram ka nahi, humare kisi kaam ka nahi".'

Taking a dig at the Samajwadi Party, Yogi Adityanath alleged that the party invoked the name of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia but failed to follow his principles. 'Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia is considered a symbol of ideals in politics. In today's politics, a true Samajwadi is free from attachment to property and children. However, today's Samajwadis have become Parivarwadis. Without the protection of criminals and goons, their condition becomes like a fish out of water. They do politics in the name of Lohia but fail to adopt even one of his ideals,' he said.
