Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini doubled down on the allegations made by former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who accused the Haryana government of "poisoning" water to Delhi.

New Delhi [India], February 1 (HBTV): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini doubled down on the allegations made by former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who accused the Haryana government of "poisoning" the water supply to the national capital. Saini claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi allocated INR 8,500 crore to build a sewage treatment plant (STP), but it has yet to be constructed.

CM Saini visited Yamuna Ghat in Wazirabad, Delhi, on Friday.

Saini said, "If Kejriwal is talking about mass genocide, then he himself is responsible for it. Kejriwal is attempting to commit mass genocide in Faridabad because dirty water is being released into the Yamuna River. Chemicals and other types of contaminated water are falling into it. He is not cleaning it, yet he is blaming others. Kejriwal used INR 15 crore to build an STP in his Sheesh Mahal. PM Modi gave INR 8,500 crore to build an STP, but he still could not build it."

The Haryana CM brought two jars of Yamuna water, one collected from the Delhi-Haryana border (Palla Ghat) and the other from Wazirabad in Delhi. He pointed out a significant difference in the quality of water from the two locations.

Saini added, "Kejriwal is making baseless allegations to cover up his failures. Kejriwal had promised to clean the Yamuna River, but he has not done so and has made it dirtier. We are providing clean water, while the people of Delhi are being forced to drink this contaminated water. Even after 10 years, he has failed to clean the Yamuna River. He should apologize to the people of Delhi and Haryana."

Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal congratulated the people of Delhi for the success of their "struggle" to stop the flow of contaminated water. On X, he claimed that ammonia levels in the water had dropped from 7 ppm to 2 ppm, thus preventing a potential water crisis.

"Many congratulations to the people of Delhi. Our struggle bore fruit. The poisonous water that was being sent to Delhi has now stopped. The amount of ammonia in the water coming to Delhi has decreased from 7 ppm to 2 ppm. If we had not raised our voices and struggled, half the population of Delhi would not have had water today. We saved Delhi from a huge water crisis. The Election Commission has issued a notice and threatened me. My reply to the Election Commission," he wrote in his X post.

Earlier today, the AAP Convenor sent a letter to the Election Commission, raising serious allegations against Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. He demanded that a criminal case be filed against Saini regarding the 'poisonous' Yamuna issue.

On Monday, Arvind Kejriwal made serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party, claiming that the BJP-ruled Haryana government had "poisoned" the Yamuna water supplied to Delhi so that "people die" and the blame would fall on the AAP. (ANI)
