New Delhi [India], February 15 (HBTV): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Palam Airport in Delhi on Friday after concluding his two-nation visit to France and the United States.
During his visit, PM Modi co-chaired the AI Summit in France and later traveled to the United States, where he met President Donald Trump—marking their first meeting since Trump assumed office as the 47th US President on January 20, 2025.
PM Modi met President Trump at the White House on Thursday, where the two leaders shared a hug as Trump welcomed him. Trump emphasized the strong unity and friendship between the two nations, calling it “important” to remain united.
During their discussions, PM Modi expressed his delight at seeing Trump back at the White House for a second term and conveyed confidence that India and the US would continue to strengthen their strategic partnership with the same bond, trust, and enthusiasm.
PM Modi further highlighted that the people of India had given him a mandate for a third successive term, a rare occurrence in the country's history after 60 years.
This visit marked PM Modi’s first trip to the United States since President Trump’s second inauguration last month. Modi was among the first world leaders to visit Washington under the new administration and was invited to the US within just three weeks of Trump's return to office.
Providing an overview of the visit, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated that PM Modi held discussions with notable figures, including director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
