Nine people, including eight jawans of the Dantewada District Reserve Guard and one driver, were killed when their vehicle was targeted by Naxals using an improvised explosive device.

Bijapur (Chhattisgarh) [India], January 7 (HBTV): Nine people, including eight jawans of the Dantewada District Reserve Guard (DRG) and one driver, were killed when their vehicle was targeted by Naxals using an improvised explosive device (IED) in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Monday, police said.

Bastar Inspector General (IG) Sundarraj P stated that the jawans were returning from a joint operation involving police from Dantewada, Narayanpur, and Bijapur when the blast occurred.
