Patna (Bihar) [India], October 4 (HBTV): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in coordination with the National Investigation Agency (NIA), arrested the NIA’s Patna Branch deputy superintendent of police (DSP) and two of his agents allegedly for accepting an illegal gratification of INR 20 lakh, officials said on Thursday.
According to officials, the CBI and NIA set a trap after receiving a complaint about corrupt activities by the officer.
The CBI had received information that one Rocky Yadav, owner of Ramaiya Construction, was alleging corrupt practices by the NIA’s Patna Branch’s investigating officer during the course of an NIA investigation against him.
After verifying the inputs and acting promptly in coordination with the NIA, the CBI laid a trap, officials said.
During the operation, the CBI apprehended the accused Investigating Officer, DSP Ajay Pratap Singh, along with two of his agents, while they were accepting illegal gratification of INR 20 lakh from the complainant.
Further investigation is underway.
