A forensic team reached the site where the BEST (Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport) bus lost control yesterday and collided with multiple vehicles.

Earlier on Monday, the BEST bus lost control and rammed into several vehicles in Kurla. The incident, reported at around 9:50 pm, was confirmed by BMC's MFB. The bus collided with 30-40 vehicles over a 100-meter stretch before crashing into the RCC column of the Solomon Building, breaking its compound wall, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.

Shiv Sena MLA Dilip Lande suggested that brake failure was the cause of the accident. He explained that the bus driver, in panic after losing control, pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, which caused the bus to speed up and ram into 30-35 people.

'A bus which left from Kurla Station had its brake fail, and the driver lost control. In his panic, the driver pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the bus to speed up. He couldn't control it and rammed into 30-35 people... people died, 4 people are in serious condition. The injured are being treated in Sion Hospital, Rajawadi Hospital, and other private hospitals,' Lande told reporters.
