Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], January 25 (HBTV): Madhya Pradesh police arrested four notorious criminals involved in assaulting shopkeepers in Bhopal and paraded them through the streets on Friday evening as a form of public accountability, according to officials.
The arrested individuals, identified as Rohit Kabirpanthi alias Bali (24), Asad Khan alias Chinu (25), Nitin Katyare alias Nikki (23), and Daksh Bundela (19), have a history of criminal activities. Police records show 25 cases against Bali, 14 against Chinu, seven against Nikki, and three against Bundela.
During the procession, the accused were made to apologize for their actions, repeatedly declaring that they would not engage in criminal activities in the future.
On January 22, the group was involved in a violent incident in the TT Nagar police jurisdiction, where they assaulted two shopkeepers with sticks and knives, causing injuries. The victims lodged a complaint, prompting the police to register a case and initiate a search for the perpetrators.
CCTV footage from the shop revealed the group’s acts of hooliganism, aiding the police in identifying the accused.
TT Nagar Police Station in-charge Sudheer Arjariya stated, ‘A few miscreants attacked two shopkeepers at their shops under TT Nagar police station on January 22. The attackers injured them with sticks and knives. Acting on the complaint, the police registered an FIR and began a search to apprehend the accused.’
The police tracked the accused using mobile location data. Despite attempts by the suspects to mislead authorities, they eventually confessed to the crime.
Two additional suspects remain at large, with police teams actively searching for them.
