New Delhi [India], January 17 (HBTV): Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Jangpura, Manish Sisodia, has reported a significant increase in his assets over the past five years, as per the affidavit filed with his nomination for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
According to the affidavit, Sisodia's movable assets have risen from INR 4.74 lakh in 2020 to INR 34.43 lakh in 2025. Similarly, his wife Seema Sisodia's movable assets have increased from INR 2.66 lakh to INR 12.87 lakh during the same period.
The affidavit also highlights an approximate INR 30 lakh increase in Sisodia's property value and an INR 10 lakh rise in his wife's property value over five years. Despite the rise in assets, the family is managing an outstanding education loan of INR 1.5 crore.
Sisodia owns a flat in Ghaziabad valued at INR 23 lakh, while Seema Sisodia owns a flat worth INR 70 lakh in Mayur Vihar.
The affidavit mentions that Sisodia is facing six criminal cases, all of which he has denied, claiming that none have been proven.
The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in a single phase on February 5, with votes to be counted on February 8. The last date for filing nominations is January 17, followed by scrutiny on January 18. Candidates can withdraw their nominations until January 20.
A three-way contest is anticipated between the ruling AAP, BJP, and Congress. AAP had a resounding victory in the 2020 elections, securing 62 of 70 seats, while the BJP managed eight. Congress, once in power for 15 consecutive years in Delhi, has failed to win a single seat in the last two assembly elections.
