New Delhi [India], November 29 (HBTV): The Uttar Pradesh Pavilion at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024 earned a prestigious gold medal for its distinct identity, showcasing the state as a rising hub for global investment and trade. Held at Bharat Mandapam, the fair's closing ceremony celebrated UP's remarkable representation, which drew over 3 lakh visitors and facilitated significant B2B and B2C interactions. These engagements resulted in orders worth crores, bolstering the state's reputation as an emerging economic powerhouse.

Rakesh Sachan, the state's Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, highlighted Uttar Pradesh's rapid transformation on the closing day of the fair. He stated: 'Today, Uttar Pradesh is not only recognised for its rich cultural heritage but also as a growing industrial hub playing a pivotal role in the country's economic development.'

The minister praised platforms like IITF for offering artisans and entrepreneurs global exposure, enabling them to showcase their craftsmanship and innovation. This, he noted, marks a significant step toward the state's holistic development.

The Uttar Pradesh Pavilion featured over 120 stalls from various districts, showcasing Bhadohi's carpets, Moradabad's brass craftsmanship, Kannauj's perfumes, and Varanasi's silk sarees. These products, along with ODOP (One District, One Product) items, highlighted the state's growing prominence in domestic and global markets.

Women entrepreneurs played a vital role in the pavilion's success, managing over 20 stalls and presenting a diverse range of products, including chikankari embroidery, Banarasi silk, handmade jewellery, and organic goods. Their displays reflected a blend of tradition and innovation, showcasing the dynamic spirit of Uttar Pradesh's evolving industries.

During the closing ceremony, the state government also honoured excellence within the UP Pavilion. Kanpur-based F.K. International won the first prize with a cash reward of INR 25,000. Noida's Mode Retail Sales and Marketing received INR 20,000 as the second prize, while Azamgarh's Weaver Handloom Development Centre was awarded INR 15,000 as the third prize.
