The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education has cancelled the Class 12 English examination for the March 2025 session due to the possibility of a paper leak.

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], March 8 (HBTV): The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education has cancelled the Class 12 English examination for the March 2025 session across all examination centres in the state due to the possibility of a paper leak.

The breach was detected at a Government Senior Secondary School in the Chowari area of Chamba district, where teachers mistakenly opened the Class 12 English question paper instead of the Class 10 paper.

The Board took this decision after receiving anonymous complaints on the ‘Exam Mitra App’ on March 7, alleging that the Class 12 English question paper had been opened before the scheduled date and time. The application was introduced by the Board for the first time during this examination session.

The official notification from the Board stated, ‘An anonymous complaint was received in the Board office on March 7, 2025, regarding the premature opening of the Class 12 English question paper at Government Senior Secondary School, Chowari, Chamba district. The Board has taken a serious view of the matter and corroborated this fact with video clips available in the Board office through the "Exam Mitra App," which was introduced for the first time during this examination.’

‘Therefore, the Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, in the exercise of the powers vested in him under section 2.1.2 of the H.P. Board of School Education Examination Regulations 1993, amended up to July 2017, orders the cancellation of the Class 12 English examination for March 2025 across all examination centres in the state. A fresh date for the examination will be notified separately in due course,’ it added.
