The Haryana Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, has approved amendments to the Common Eligibility Test (CET) Policy, 2022, for Group-C and D posts.

Chandigarh (Haryana) [India], January 16 (HBTV): The Haryana Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, has approved amendments to the Common Eligibility Test (CET) Policy, 2022, for Group-C and D posts. The decision was made during a meeting held in Chandigarh on Saturday.

The revised policy will now be known as the Policy for Recruitment to Group-C and D Posts through the Common Eligibility Test (Amendment) Rule, 2024.

One significant amendment is the removal of the 5% weightage previously granted to bona fide residents of Haryana under the socio-economic criteria. This change complies with directions issued by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The amended policy will apply to direct recruitment for Group-C posts, including those in Police Services, Prisons, and Home Guards, with specific exclusions:

  1. Teaching posts,
  2. Ex-Agniveer posts, and
  3. Group-D posts requiring educational qualifications below Matriculation, as defined under the Haryana Group-D Employees (Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2018 (5 of 2018).

Additionally, the policy will cover recruitment in state government departments, boards, corporations, statutory bodies, and other state-controlled agencies, excluding universities established under a State Act.

Another notable amendment increases the maximum number of eligible candidates for skill and/or written examinations to ten times the total number of advertised posts. Previously, only candidates equal to four times the advertised posts were eligible.

The Common Eligibility Test for Group-C and D posts was first introduced on May 5, 2022. The initiative aimed to ensure credible and transparent recruitment processes, securing public confidence and standardizing the hiring process for direct recruitment across all eligible posts in Haryana.
