New Delhi, February 13 (HBTV): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited BJP National President JP Nadda in the national capital on Tuesday and congratulated him on the party's resounding victory in the Delhi Assembly elections.
The BJP secured a decisive win, clinching 48 out of the 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly, marking a return to power in the national capital after 27 years. In contrast, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won only 22 seats, a significant drop from their 62 seats in 2020.
CM Saini described his visit as a "courtesy visit." In a social media post, he wrote: “Today in Delhi, I made a courtesy visit to the National President of @BJP4India, Union Health Minister Shri @JPNadda ji and congratulated him for the massive victory of BJP in Delhi.”
Saini added, “During this meeting, I sought his guidance on various organizational matters, including the upcoming civic body elections in Haryana on March 2.”
The Haryana Chief Minister further stated that “families in Haryana have decided to form the BJP’s triple-engine government in the state with a huge majority.”
The BJP's victory in Delhi on February 8 marked a two-thirds majority, with the ruling AAP experiencing a significant decline. The Congress, which had ruled Delhi for 15 years until 1998, once again failed to secure any seats, continuing its downward trajectory.
Earlier, the BJP had also registered strong victories in Haryana and Maharashtra, dealing a blow to the opposition’s prospects ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The February 5 polling in Delhi saw the Congress fail to revive its fortunes, recording its third consecutive loss with no seats in the Assembly.
