Panchkula (Haryana) [India], April 6 (HBTV): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday offered prayers at the Mata Mansa Devi Temple in Panchkula on the second day of the nine-day-long Chaitra Navratri festival. He was accompanied by his wife.
On the second day of Navratri, Goddess Durga is worshipped in the form of Mata Brahmacharini.
Meanwhile, the morning Aarti was held at Jhandewalan Temple in New Delhi as part of the ongoing Navratri celebrations.
Navratri, which means ‘nine nights’ in Sanskrit, is a Hindu festival that celebrates Goddess Durga and her nine avatars, known collectively as Navdurga. Hindus observe four Navratris each year, but only two—Chaitra Navratri and Shardiya Navratri—are widely celebrated as they coincide with seasonal transitions. The nine-day festival, also known as Ram Navratri, concludes with Ram Navami, which marks the birth of Lord Ram.
The festival is celebrated across India with great devotion, with rituals and prayers honouring the goddess in her various forms.
