New Delhi [India], January 17 (HBTV): The Haryana Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, convened in Chandigarh on Saturday and approved amendments to key civil services rules and measures to support martyrs' families.
The Cabinet approved the Finance Department's proposal to amend the Haryana Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2008, and the Haryana Civil Services (Assured Career Progression) Rules, 2008. As per the changes, the Haryana Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2008, will now be known as the Haryana Civil Services (Revised Pay) Amendment Rules, 2024, and will be deemed effective from September 1, 2009. Similarly, the Haryana Civil Services (Assured Career Progression) Rules, 2008, will be renamed as the Haryana Civil Services (Assured Career Progression) Amendment Rules, 2024, with the same effective date.
These amendments will apply to engineering posts in three key engineering wings of the state: PWD (B&R), Irrigation and Water Resources, and the Public Health Engineering Department. Importantly, the revisions will not require pay re-fixation for any employee.
During the meeting, CM Nayab Singh Saini announced several significant decisions, with 30 out of 31 agenda items approved, showcasing the session's productivity.
A key highlight was the Cabinet's decision to increase the financial support for families of Army and CRPF personnel who die in the line of duty. The ex-gratia amount has been raised from INR 50 lakh to INR 1 crore, underscoring the state’s commitment to honoring the sacrifices of its citizens in service to the nation.
Speaking at a press conference, Chief Minister Saini stated, ‘It has been decided to increase the ex-gratia amount for the families of Army and CRPF personnel who make the supreme sacrifice from INR 50 lakh to INR 1 crore. It was also decided to raise the monthly pension for the Matribhasha Satyagrahi of 1957 from INR 15,000 to INR 20,000.’
