Haryana Minister Anil Vij on Saturday urged farmers to temporarily halt their protest, referencing the Supreme Court's ongoing deliberations on the matter.

Ambala (Haryana) [India], December 14 (HBTV): Haryana Minister Anil Vij on Saturday urged farmers to temporarily halt their protest, referencing the Supreme Court's ongoing deliberations on the matter.

Anil Vij stated that the apex court has requested time to hear the case and suggested that farmers consider pausing their protests. He expressed his belief that farmers should heed the court's suggestion and suspend their protest temporarily, adding that cooperation with the legal process would be in their best interest.

'The Supreme Court is hearing the case and has asked for some time. The apex court has also said that communication with the committee is satisfactory and requested additional time. The court suggested that farmers pause their protest for some time. I think the farmers should listen to the court,' said Vij.

The apex court on Friday directed the Union government and Punjab authorities to ensure necessary medical aid for farmer Jagjit Singh Dallewal, the convener of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political), who has been on a fast-unto-death at the Khanouri border.

A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan instructed authorities to engage directly with Dallewal, emphasizing that 'his life is more precious than any agitation.'

Dallewal has been on a fast-unto-death since November 26 as part of the protests against the Central government demanding minimum support prices for crops.

The Haryana government has ordered a temporary suspension of mobile internet, SMS, and dongle services in the Ambala district from December 14-17 to curb the spread of misinformation and potential law-and-order disruptions following the 'Delhi Kooch' call by farmers' organizations amid the ongoing protests.

Effective from December 14, 6 AM, until December 17, 11:59 PM, the restrictions apply to specific villages, including Dangdehri, Lohgarh, and Saddopur.

Essential services such as individual SMS, banking communications, voice calls, and broadband remain operational to minimize public inconvenience while ensuring peace and order.

'This order is issued to prevent any disturbance of peace and public order in the villages of Dangdehri, Lohgarh, Manakpur, Dadiyana, Bari Ghel, Choti Ghel, Lharsa, Kalu Majra, Devi Nagar (Hira Nagar, Naresh Vihar), Saddopur, Sultanpur, and Kakru in the jurisdiction of district Ambala,' the order read.
