The Delhi Police have apprehended a 12th-standard student for issuing bomb threats to multiple schools in the national capital via email.

New Delhi [India], January 10 (HBTV): The Delhi Police have apprehended a 12th-standard student for issuing bomb threats to multiple schools in the national capital via email.

According to the police, the student was responsible for the last 23 threat emails received by various schools. During interrogation, he admitted to sending similar emails in the past.

"Several schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails on Wednesday," the police confirmed, adding that the list included Delhi Public School in Vasant Vihar and RK Puram, Blue Bells, and Tagore International.

The emails claimed that large amounts of explosives had been planted on the school premises. Authorities are actively investigating the threats, which resemble previous hoax bomb threats targeting schools in the city.

The email warned of "massive and highly dangerous explosives" on school premises. It criticized the schools’ lack of strict bag checks for students entering the campus, describing it as an opportunity to carry out the plan.

The sender also demonstrated knowledge of the schools’ exam schedules and student movements, stating:"During this time, everyone apart from the students writing the exam will either be standing outside on the field or wandering around the building. You will remain completely unaware of the devastating explosives that have already been planted in multiple key locations on your premises," the email read.

Further updates on the investigation are awaited.
