Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], April 30 (HBTV): Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday in Lucknow.
Uttar Pradesh Minister Swatantra Dev Singh said the meeting concerned court cases involving both Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, with Chief Secretaries from the two states discussing the pending matters.
‘This meeting was held regarding the cases pending in the court. The Chief Secretaries of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi governments sat together and discussed the problems and how to solve those problems,’ Singh told ANI on Tuesday.
On Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the All India Police Handball Cluster 2024–25 in Lucknow, emphasising the role of sports in promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Addressing participants and officials, Adityanath thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for selecting Uttar Pradesh as the host state for the national-level tournament.
‘I am delighted that for the next four days, the All India Police Handball Cluster will take place in Uttar Pradesh. A total of 75 teams are participating in the event. I thank the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister for selecting Uttar Pradesh to host this tournament,’ he said.
Highlighting the historical significance of sports in Indian culture, Adityanath added, ‘We all know that sports activities have been an integral part of Indian lifestyle since ancient times. For a healthy India, we must promote sports.’
He noted that Prime Minister Modi has played a vital role in fostering a nationwide sports culture and pointed out that 500 medal-winning athletes who represented India internationally have been inducted into the Uttar Pradesh Police through a special recruitment drive.
