Panchkula (Haryana) [India], February 7 (HBTV): Haryana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Mohan Lal Badoli on Wednesday predicted that the upcoming results of the Delhi Assembly elections would be 'historic' and 'surprising.'
Speaking to ANI, Badoli expressed confidence that the BJP would secure a majority and emerge victorious in the election. He further accused Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal of hurting people's sentiments in Haryana.
'Very surprising results will come in the Delhi Assembly elections. This will be a historic poll... Arvind Kejriwal alleged that the people and government of Haryana are mixing poison in the Yamuna water... He has hurt the sentiments of the people by saying so... People will remove him from power... We will win by a majority and form a government,' Badoli told ANI.
Meanwhile, Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)] leader Neeraj Kumar criticized AAP over the liquor scam that created uproar in Delhi. He further accused AAP of 'polluting' the Yamuna River.
'They (AAP) created an uproar through the liquor scam, and the Yamuna has been polluted so much... It is difficult to say anything about Congress,' Kumar told ANI.
Moreover, the BJP is poised to form the next government in Delhi, with the ruling AAP falling behind, according to most exit polls released on Wednesday. The polls also indicated that Congress is likely to continue its dismal performance in the Assembly elections.
The exit polls varied in their prediction of the margin of BJP's victory, with one poll suggesting that the party could win 51-60 out of 70 Assembly seats in Delhi. However, two polls also predicted an AAP victory. The exit polls were released after the conclusion of voting in the Delhi Assembly elections on Wednesday.
