Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], January 17 (HBTV): As part of the Maha Kumbh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a high-level review meeting and emphasized the need for seamless arrangements to accommodate the massive turnout of devotees expected at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj for the holy dip during Mauni Amavasya on January 29.

According to an official release, Chief Minister Yogi directed authorities to expedite preparations for the Maha Kumbh, anticipating the arrival of 8-10 crore devotees for Mauni Amavasya. While reviewing developments from the past three days with senior officials on Wednesday, CM Yogi noted that over 6 crore devotees took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam during the recent festivals of Paush Purnima and Makar Sankranti.

The Chief Minister highlighted the need to enhance logistics, safety, and crowd management for Mauni Amavasya. He instructed officials to prioritize measures such as improved transportation, sanitation, medical facilities, and law enforcement to accommodate the unprecedented influx of devotees. He also directed authorities to coordinate with the railways to ensure the timely operation of regular and special Maha Kumbh trains, alongside continuous bus services, including shuttle and electric buses.

To further improve facilities, CM Yogi stressed the importance of a robust mobile network in the Maha Kumbh area, regular cleaning of toilets, barricading of the ghats, and uninterrupted electricity and drinking water supply across all sectors.

Several senior officials, including the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Director General of Police, Principal Secretary for Home and Information, Principal Secretary for Urban Development, Chairman of Power Corporation, and Director of Information, attended the meeting.

Devotees continued to take holy dips at the Triveni Sangam on the third day of the 45-day-long Maha Kumbh, which began on January 13. Over 50 million devotees took part in the sacred ritual during the first two days, making it one of the largest human gatherings on the planet.

On Tuesday, during the first Amrit Snan of Maha Kumbh 2025 on Makar Sankranti, the Uttar Pradesh government, led by CM Yogi Adityanath, organized a grand flower shower from helicopters, scattering rose petals over lakhs of devotees at the Sangam Bank. The sight of rose petals raining down evoked heartfelt chants of 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Har Har Mahadev' from the devotees.

CM Yogi described Maha Kumbh as a symbol of the immense power and faith of Sanatan Dharma. He wrote, ‘On the first Amrit Snan day, more than 3.5 crore revered saints and devotees earned the merit of bathing in the eternal and pure Triveni Sangam.’
