Chhattisgarh's economy is projected to grow further this year, with the state's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) estimated to expand by 7.51 per cent, according to an Economic Survey 2024-25.

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], March 5 (HBTV): Chhattisgarh's economy is projected to grow further this year, with the state's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) estimated to expand by 7.51 per cent, according to the Economic Survey 2024-25 presented by the state government on Friday.

The state's income from trade, industries, and agriculture continues to rise, leading to higher earnings and an improved standard of living. The GSDP, which stood at INR 306,712 crore last year, is expected to reach INR 329,752 crore this year, reflecting sustained industrial expansion and business growth across the state.

Chhattisgarh's economy is primarily supported by three sectors—agriculture, industry, and services—all of which are expected to perform well in 2024-25. The agriculture, animal husbandry, and forestry sector is projected to grow by 5.38 per cent, increasing from INR 48,987 crore in 2023-24 to INR 51,621 crore this year.

The industrial sector is anticipated to expand by 6.92 per cent, reaching INR 147,172 crore, driven by the establishment of new factories and industries, which is expected to generate more employment opportunities.

The services sector, including banking, tourism, and IT, is set to experience significant growth, with an estimated increase of 8.54 per cent, reaching INR 108,461 crore. The government highlighted that tourism and digital services hold strong potential for further expansion.

Chhattisgarh's rapid economic progress suggests the state is on a strong development trajectory. If this momentum continues, it could soon rank among the fastest-growing states in India. The per capita income is also expected to rise from INR 148,922 in 2023-24 to INR 162,870 in 2024-25, marking a 9.37 per cent increase. (ANI)
