Surajpur (Chhattisgarh) [India], October 10 (HBTV): Under the 'Sampoornata Abhiyan,' people belonging to the Pando tribe-- a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) in Surajpur district, are getting the benefits of government schemes in their village.
Complying with the directives of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, officials of separate departments host a special camp every Wednesday in the Madanpur village of the 'Pando' tribe, and redress their problems that include revenue cases, Aadhaar update, making of Ayushman card and others.
At the camp, tribal people are also informed about about vaccination, sickle cell anaemia, TB tests, government schemes and others.
After the formation of the BJP government in the state, extensive efforts are being made for the upliftment of PVTGs and in the same episode, 'Sampoornata Abhiyan' is being carried out.
Speaking to ANI, a resident of village Madanpur in the Surajpur district, Anita Rathiya said that they are availing the medical tests and medicines in these camps.
"We have to face problems in disposing of our problems. The population here are not aware of whom to approach for disposal of problems but the commencement of the camp came as a boon to us," said Rathiya, who turned out for registration to participate in the camp.
The camp is significantly benefitting the population here and no one has to visit the district headquarters to avail any document, said Phoolsundari Pando, another resident of the Madanpur village.
Following the instruction of the Chhattisgarh Government, Sampoornata Abhiyan has been launched taking cues from Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, said Surajpur Collector Rohit Vyas.
The collector further elaborated that to connect people belonging to the Pando tribe to the government's schemes, camps are being conducted in all six blocks of Surajpur every Wednesday.
The administration had carried out a survey at the panchayat level to collect details including the number of members in each family, benefits of schemes being availed by them and benefits they are not getting. The survey findings revealed that people of the Pando tribe were deprived of separate schemes following which the initiative of hosting the camp was taken.
Around 20,000 families have benefited from this initiative, said the Collector.
Sampoornata Abhiyan was launched by NITI Aayog to achieve saturation in 12 key social sector indicators in 500 Aspirational Blocks and 112 Aspirational Districts across India.
The campaign's goals are to: Bridge developmental gaps, bring about transformative changes, enhance the quality of life, create opportunities for economic growth, and foster sustainable development.
