Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], April 3 (HBTV): After the BJP government completed eight years in Uttar Pradesh, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Monday expressed confidence that the party would replicate its 2017 performance in the 2027 Assembly elections.
Speaking to ANI, Maurya also claimed that by 2047, the Samajwadi Party, Congress, and Bahujan Samaj Party would have no future in the state.
‘BJP came to power in the state in 2017, and in 2025, we completed eight years of governance. The transformation and joy that has come into the lives of 25 crore people of the state, the development that has taken place, and the opportunity to head towards the welfare of the poor are unmatched. I am very confident that we will repeat 2017 in 2027 and form a government for the third consecutive time. By 2047, there would be no future of SP, Congress or BSP in the future of UP,’ he said.
Earlier today, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lauded his government’s performance on its eighth anniversary, stating that eight years of ‘service, safety, and good governance’ had been completed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During a special program organised to mark the completion of eight years of the BJP government, Adityanath expressed gratitude to the people of the state.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Minister Brajesh Pathak, Minister Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, along with several other ministers and dignitaries, attended the program.
‘Under the leadership of PM Modi, eight years of service, safety, and good governance have been completed... the double-engine government of UP has completed eight years today... I thank 25 crore people of Uttar Pradesh for their support,’ Adityanath said at the press conference.
Drawing comparisons with previous governments, the Chief Minister said the state was facing an ‘identity crisis’ and that its infrastructure, economy, and law and order were in a ‘dire state.’ He added that people could see how significant changes had been brought about by a change in government.
‘Most of us know what the condition and identity of UP were eight years ago. The condition of UP's infrastructure and economy eight years ago was not hidden... There was an identity crisis in front of UP; farmers were committing suicide, youth were struggling, daughters and traders were unsafe, and the people tolerated the poor economy because of riots and the collapsed law and order situation,’ he said.
