The investigation into the Baba Siddiqui murder case has revealed that prime suspect Akashdeep Gill, arrested in Punjab, used a labourer's mobile hotspot to communicate with key conspirators.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 22 (HBTV): The investigation into the Baba Siddiqui murder case has revealed that prime suspect Akashdeep Gill, arrested in Punjab, used a labourer's mobile hotspot to communicate with key conspirators, including mastermind Anmol Bishnoi, police said.

Gill, identified as the logistics coordinator in the murder plot orchestrated by notorious gangster Anmol Bishnoi, disclosed during interrogation that he used the mobile hotspot of a labourer named Balwinder to evade police detection. This method allowed him to appear offline and avoid tracking. The Mumbai Crime Branch is currently searching for Gill’s mobile phone, which is believed to contain vital evidence related to the case.

The Crime Branch confirmed that Gill played a crucial role in coordinating the logistics for the murder plot orchestrated by Bishnoi.

On November 12, Killa court in Mumbai sent Shiva Kumar, the main accused and shooter in the Baba Siddiqui murder case, along with four other accused, to police custody until November 19. Kumar and the other accused were arrested by a joint team of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and the Mumbai Crime Branch from Nanpara, Uttar Pradesh, on November 10.

NCP leader Baba Siddiqui was shot dead by three assailants near his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Mumbai’s Nirmal Nagar on October 12. Police have arrested Salman Vohra and Akashdeep Singh in connection with the murder. Vohra is accused of financing the murder.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, currently led by a jailed gangster, has claimed responsibility for the murder.

In an additional revelation, sources informed the Mumbai Crime Branch that, after Baba Siddiqui's murder, the Bishnoi gang had set its sights on another major leader from Pune.

Further, on November 16, it emerged that Shubham Lonkar, a wanted accused linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, had allegedly planned to kill Aftab Poonawala, the man accused of murdering Shraddha Walker, in Delhi’s Saket Court in 2022. Lonkar's alleged plans for Poonawala's murder were said to have been in motion for a month. Poonawala is currently imprisoned in Tihar Jail in Delhi.
