Amit Shah to begin 3-day Chhattisgarh visit from December 14, chair security review meeting

New Delhi [India], December 5 (HBTV): Union Home Minister Amit Shah will commence a three-day visit to Chhattisgarh from December 14 to December 16, during which he will preside over a high-level security review meeting in Raipur, focusing on the state's security situation and related developments.

As part of his itinerary, Shah will also confer the prestigious President's Police Colors on the Chhattisgarh Police.

During the visit, Shah will travel to Jagdalpur, where he will interact with surrendered Maoists, residents, and intellectuals. He is also slated to attend the closing ceremony of the Bastar Olympics.

In a tribute to martyrs, the Home Minister will honor their memory in Jagdalpur and meet families of victims affected by Left-Wing Extremism. Shah's itinerary includes visits to security camps, inspections of ongoing developmental projects, and sharing meals with security personnel deployed in the region.

This visit highlights the government's commitment to addressing security challenges and fostering development in Chhattisgarh.

Earlier, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai chaired a meeting on anti-Naxal operations at Police Headquarters in Nava Raipur. The CM, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Speaking on the progress made against Naxalism, Sai stated, "The entire country recognizes that since our government assumed office, our security forces have been combating Naxalism with strength. We are making strides in establishing peace in Bastar, and regular review meetings ensure continued progress."

Shah's visit is expected to further bolster efforts to address security concerns and enhance development in the region.
