Kolkata, West Bengal, October 1 (HBTV): Actor Govinda has been injured by bullet after the actor shot himself in leg with his own revolver. The 60-year-old actor was rushed to hospital after heavy blood loss.
According to reports, the incident took place at around Tuesday early in the morning.
Govinda, who is also a Shiv Sena leader, shot himself accidentally with his own licensed revolver. The actor was checking the weapon before heading out at 4.45 am to catch the flight to Kolkata, as per reports. He was rushed to hospital at 5.15 AM after a bullet was stuck in his knee that caused heavy blood loss.
The veteran is currently under medical treatment and admitted to CRITIcare Hospital in Mumbai. According to the hospital’s reports, the actor is now out of danger.
There has been no official statement from the actor's family. However, his manager Shashi Sinha told ANI, "Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was getting ready to leave for Kolkata. He was keeping his licensed revolver in the case when it fell from his hand and a bullet got fired which hit his leg. The doctor has removed the bullet and his condition is fine. He is in the hospital right now."
